Word of Life Student Ministries

7th - 12th Grade

Is the purpose of teaching to communicate biblical content or to bring about life-changing transformation in the lives of those who are listening? The answer is both! We take the timeless truths of biblical doctrine and connect them to where students are living today. What are the vital truths that your students need to grasp in the possible 6 years they will be in your ministry? Doctrine is the foundation for living the Christian life because what we believe determines how we live. To live a successful Christian life, your students need to have a solid grip on basic Bible doctrines.

Objectives/Goals

Teach God’s Word Clearly :

  • We use a historical, grammatical, and literal interpretation as we approach Scripture (a dispensational approach).
  • We will explain the truth of God’s Word in such a way that students MUST receive or reject the truth.
  • Our goal is to always bring them to a point of decision.

Teach in an engaging way:

  • The study is culturally relevant (using felt needs, and culturally applicable illustrations) and clearly applied to a student’s life.

Teach obedience out of a Love for Christ:

  • We will stress obedience coming from faith decisions made in the heart as an overflow of loving Jesus more intimately.

Scriptural Basis

  • All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.. - 2 Timothy 3:16, 17
  • The Word of God is quick and powerful – Hebrews 4:12-13
  • This peoplehonoreth me with their lips but their heart is far from me. – Marks 7:6-7
  • The Love of Christ constraineth us – 2 Corinthians 5:14
  • Be transformed by the renewing of your mind – Romans 12:2
  • Be doers of the Word and not hearers only – James 1:22

A six year approach to doctrine

Our Student Ministry curriculum takes a 6 year approach to helping you accomplish a solid spiritual foundation in the lives of your students.  Each year your students will experience sound teaching of several major doctrines, Bible book study, topical study, and godly life skills.

Discipleship Tools

We’re committed to a Biblical model of discipleship, so we’ll give you training to help your leaders get into students’ lives and help them grow in their relationship with God.

  • Daily Quiet Time – The Quiet Time daily devotional journal covers the whole Bible every 6 years. Everyone from a preschooler to an adult reads from the same passage every day building a unique, intergenerational unity. For children, there are pictures and fill-in-the-blanks while the adults have extended commentary on each passage with questions to help with application.
  • Scripture Memory – We’ll give you tools to help your students spend daily time in the Word, memorize scripture, and start serving God right now, where they are.
  • Ministry Service – We’ll help you reach your community through local outreach events put on entirely by your church.
  • Local Church – This program is about you, not us.  Our passion is to equip you for your ministry in your local church.  We believe that the youth in your church are to be faithful to your church.
